This Movie was not what I expected. I absoluty loved it!!!![/b] ;D
Basically the movie is about two teenagers that get sucked into a grey and black sit-com, named Pleasantville. In Pleasantville everyone does the same thing over and over according to what they view right, in other words conformity. Jennifer and David take the task to teach the citizens of Pleasantville to think beyond their boundaries and put their ideas into action without a doubt, “ … to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life…”-Henry David Thoreau.
Does that have transcended turned colored. Eventually the whole town turns into color.
Jennifer and David also transcend. I guess that when they got sucked into the sitcom it was their way to retire from society, their form of ‘nature’. Jennifer learns that there is more to live than sex and drugs by reading; By reading she explores the world and breaks form the usual routine of sex and drugs. David learns to stand up for himself and other by gaining confidence from being in Pleasantville.
At the end David leaves Pleasantville and Jennifer stays. I think they decided does decision because like Henry David Thoreau they thought, “I left the woods for as a good reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me that I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one.”

I absolutely loved this movie too, Jennifer. Without David and Jennifer, Pleasantville would stay the same. David is a self-reliant man, who gains fame and he uses his fame to change Pleasantville. He and Jennifer turn Pleasantville into a colorful city, and help the citizens accept it. Jennifer is a non-conformist person who does not want anybody to control her life. She just does what she wants to do and that leads her to staying in Pleasantville.

This movie sounds very interesting, it must be bad to live in a world where everything is the same day by day and there is no amusement on what will happen next. Its nice to put some on ones own color into a day, im sure thats what makes a day special. Nice review Jennifer

I agree with karen, David is a self reliant man but he's also a nonconformist. In the beginning if the movie he was obssessed with the show pleasentville when nobody else really liked it like he did。He didn't care that he liked it while other people thought he was weird.
