Dead poet society is about Students that go a strict disciplined school called Welton Academy . They begin as disciplined students that cannot make choices by themselves living by the four pillars of there school "Tradition, Honor, Discipline, Excellence". This all changes when they met there English teacher Mr. Keating who tells them about "carpe diem" Latin for seize the day. From that point on some of them began to see that they can make there own choices but it took some of them sometime to discover that they can also do it. They soon discovered some of Mr.Keating's past in an old year book, they learned about a society of free thinkers that he was in, called the dead poet society. After learning about the society from Mr. Keting, they revived the society and read poems that the old society had made and they began to write there own poems. They began to break free from some of the discipline when one of them committed suicide because of a strict father who would not let his son be what he always wanted to be. Mr. Keating was blamed for his death for encouraging his students to fallow there hearts. In the end they finally saw that they could think freely and do what they want to do with there own lifes.

The Dead Poet Society is a great film full of transcendentalism. One's path for life shouldn't be decided by one's parents. It should be our own decision to make and do what we desire. As well with no one can be blamed for encouraging students to follow their hearts. Good job!

I agree with beatriz but our parents should guide us towards our goals and dreams and not decide what we want in life.
