The movie "Into the wild " is about a man named Chris who is on the journey of his life.Chris leaves everything and everyone ,on a journey to the wilderness of Alaska . Ralph Waldo Emerson says that to be in true solitary "a man must retire from his chamber as much as from society" .On his days in the magic bus ,Chris was truly in solitude but thought none of it for he had completed his journey .The magic bus was his place in Alaska , when he was there he was self-reliance for everything he did , got , ate , ect. During his journey he met many people who tried to change his mine on his journey ,Chris didn't care and kept going. Chris realied on his skills alone and what he found .He cared about nature and did not abuse ,he saw the importance and buaety of it .Chris becomes a man during his journey to Alaska .

I agree with you Nixa There was many things Chris could have done in his life. But all he wanted to do was leave from his society which he felt being there he wasn't fulfilling his life. Chris wanted to be in Alaska and explore nature. He had a goal and he reached for it. Being self reliant by rejecting the help from the hippies and not listening to any ones advice.

I agree with you Isabell. He could have done more with his life he could have had a great career or etc. Yes, all he wanted was to leave from his society to fulfill his life but everyone has a different idea of fulfillment to their lives. At least he reached his goal in life.(:

His life could have been the life of a C.E.O a life that would have made his parents proud, but not him. At times i do think he began to feel lonely, Chris started writing the word lonely lot. perhaps to compensate that he was and as long as we wrote it he would be fine. In a way be able to embrace it to the point that he was okay with it.
