In the movie "Into the Wild" Chris is a great example of transcendentalism. Throughout most the the movie it shows numerous examples of transcendentalism. Like it is shown in the beginning, he doesn't accept the brand new car his parents gave him, because he said he doesn't want things and keeps repeating it. Also, Chris lived based on nature and relied on it. He would say that nature is great and he would show how nature is important. Every time he would write he would mention nature. In addition he only cared for him self and his own ideas. A way to prove that he didn't even care about his parents and he burned all of his things. He left society to live his own ideal life and he was happy with it. He would rely on him self too, people would offer him money and rejected it. He left the hippie couple. He rejected all of those opportunities just to go to Alaska. Overall this was a great movie, I really enjoyed it.

Jorge, I think you gave a very good example of transcendentalism when you pointed out that Chris doesn't want things -Jesus Ferrel
