I noticed that the movie is arguably pro-Transcendental. The movie shows some differences between living in a busy society opposed to living in a small island by oneself. The movie shows how Chuck is always busy and he never has time for his family or for his own free time. When he gets lost at sea and reaches the island, his only concern is to survive and he does not have to worry about any unnecessary things. When he leaves the island, he seems to almost regret leaving because maybe he had learned to appreciate the island and its tranquility. Once he returns home and has that party, it is mentioned that it was going to take paperwork to bring him back to life, and I think this implies that there are a lot of complexities to living a simple life in today's society.
