in "Somewhere over the rainbow" the narrator transcends or in other words goes beyond the ordinary limits of his life and imagines it and observes it in new ways. It can be said that he connects with his inner self in a very special way and tries to help us imagine it it by saying he'll "wake up where the clouds are far behind me, where trouble melts like lemon drops, high above the chimney top, that's where you'll find me." He even connects with his natural side as he describes observing "trees of green, red roses too, I watch them bloom for me and you, and i think to myself what a wonderful world." He clearly shows transcendental ideas.

this song stongly relates to transcending. In the song the writer seeks spiritual inner peace that one can say is accomplished. I also think this song falls under more transcendental characteristics which is great. Like you said it has to do with his connection to nature and also it goes with the teaching of self-reliance. This is demonstrated in "And the dreams that you dreamed of Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh" it shows people to realize to trust that their dreams will come true.

You have no idea how much I dislike you right now Hector -_- This was the perfect song for transcendentalism. It demonstrated that if people are self reliant with themselves they can achieve their dreams.
