I choose this movie because it shows a great deal of Transcendentalism, especially the main character. In the movie a young boy named Trevor is given an assignment by his social studies teacher Mr. Simonet,to come up with an idea to change the world, and put it into action. Instead of doing something simple like donating to a charity, Trevor thinks beyond everyones expectations and really thought outside the box. In his idea one person would help 3 people, and each of those individual people would help 3 more people. Therefore he would create a chain of events, helping everyone around the world. Even with a negative environment around Trevor's like, an alcoholic mother, abusive dad, and bullies at school. Trevor believes theirs good in everyone, therefore they should receive something good from others. Trevor really does rise above and goes beyond the limit of thought.

I love this movie, especially the book. It is VERY inspiring. The main character, Trevor, was the person who showed a transcending attitude. His message or act of kindness was the best choice. He believed that he could change someone's life with a simple act. That act will then soon be passed to different people, and chain of events appear. All of his acts depicted him as a person who never stopped thinking freely. Trevor did not give up, and that was his self-reliance. Pay It Forward is a must see movie.

This movie can inspire any soul you watches it. The main character is Trever. He is the one who holds the message of happiness. He tries to help anyone, and make a movement to change one life at a time. His self- realince payed forward, he believed in himself and no one self. He never gave up tell he spread the word.

I agree with you, Trevor's unique idea can be considered Transcendental because he tried something new, and it actually worked. Instead of doing something that countless people have tried, he came up with his own method, to help others with their individual problems, which spread rapidly among people.

This was a very good movie. i think the part that made it transcendental was that he took his own path in trying to help people on a world wide basis and never gave up no matter what. Even though his idea started small it rapidly grew like he new it would. The chain reaction of pay it foward soon led to the world to becoming a kinder more peaceful place. i honestly liked the book better than the movie though because it was more descriptive and thoughtful.
