I enjoyed watching this movie because it was funny. This movie showed some importance on nature because Truman spent time by himself or with his friend named Marlen in the beach looking at the sea and sunset. Both Marlen and Truman talked about how perfect the sunset was and Truman told his friends that it was always a beautiful day. Thinking freely was another thing that this movie showed. Truman told his wife and Marlen that he wanted to get out of the island and explore but his wife and friend did not support him. That did not stop him from attempting to accomplish it. Non-conformity was shown when Truman broke his normal routine and did things nobody expected him to do because he was starting to see some strange things happening.Self-reliance was shown when Truman believed in himself and his idea of exploring. The creator of The Truman Show tried to stop Truman from leaving the island in many ways but it did not work. Truman overcame every obstacle that was presented to him and his fear of water in order to accomplish what he wanted.

This movie is a good example of transcendentalism. I agree with every word you said, Margarita. Truman is a courageous man who never stopped finding out the secret in his world. He thought freely without anybody's opinion, which is also like non-conformity. It was amazing when he overcame his fear of water/sea because he had self-reliance. He was transcending when he tried to question his authority. This is also somehow related to Emerson's "Self-Reliance." It is related because Truman believed in himself that he could leave his society and find Silvia.
