This image inspires me to think twice about everything. At first in this image one sees the beauty of it, only whats on the surface. Once one looks closer one is able to see the reality in the picture, what is below the surface, the rocks at the bottom right corner. To me these rocks symbolize a person's true colors, the hardships they have faced and what has made them the person they are today. This is the lesson this image has taught me ,to look beyond the surface and find out who a person really is.

I agree with you. At first when you look at the picture you don't notice the rocks. You have to look closer at the picture to realize that the rocks are there. At first the only thing you notice is the mountains, the trees and how beautiful everything is.This make me realize that sometimes you think you know a lot about something but in reality you know only a bit because you have not looked beyond the surface.

I like your interpretations of rocks in your picture. This stream/river is also like the path of your life. It can be calm and still or sometimes be fast and flowing. The life of a person can be calm without anyone or anything trying to mess with it. It can also be fast and flowing when someone or something affects the person. The mountains may be a person's a goal or it can be what a person looks up to as an inspiration.

Agreed with the above comments. Especially the one about where we only look at the surface and having to look closer to find out what something really is. The phrase "judging a book by its cover" fits perfectly fine and a more specific example would be when you meet someone new. You never know what someone or something is like until you get closer, but like how the rocks formed, you have to also have to allow it time to be able to grasp full understandment or clear picture. I also noticed how the landscape reflects on the water. What you see in yourself is what you project outwards, which is why we have to be the best we can be. [:

I loved everything ones thoughts and interpretation with Melissa's photo. I find it amazing how with one photo of something so simple and so beautiful can spring up so many ideas and inspiring thoughts. There are so many connects that can be made through this picture.
The rocks could also symbolize the little details in life that are always there, but not always noticed. The mountains are emphasized because of their size and more noticable beauty, but the rocks are as much as in the picture as the mountains.
